Have Quarterbacks Surpassed Running Backs in Fantasy Football Leagues?

In past years, savvy Fantasy Football players have used the first two rounds of their draft to get running backs that will pile up points for their fantasy teams. Last year, however, eight of the top ten fantasy point's scorers were quarterbacks. Is this a trend that is continuing on in the next few seasons? I think that there are a few factors that will help continue this trend.

The first factor is that most teams are now employing a two running back attack. Last season less than half of the teams had a 1,000 yard rusher. Even the Denver Broncos who led the league in rushing as a team with over 2,600 yards were led by a rusher who had less than 1,200 yards. (Their second leading rusher was their quarterback) Using a two back attack also keeps a fresh running back in the game which provides more pressure on the defense. This is a trend that most teams are moving to and not away from. Even drafting running backs in the first round of the NFL draft has declined. Only 3 were drafted last year and two of them were taken in the final two picks of the first round.

The second factor is that most teams are taking to the air to move the ball. Last season 20 quarterbacks threw for over 3,000 yards while as recently as 2006 only 14 quarterbacks threw for that much. In fact a residual effect of the aerial assault is that 4 receivers were in the top 21 of fantasy points last season.

The final factor is rules changes that the National Football League has made in recent years. They have increased the definition of defenseless players to include receivers who have caught the ball but have not had a chance to protect themselves. This takes the blow that defensive players used to use to separate the ball from the receiver. Also the rules that have put in place to protect the quarterback in the pocket have helped to make them feel more comfortable throwing the ball.

These factors all lead to the conclusion that you need to seriously look at drafting a quarterback in the first round of your fantasy draft. Take into account when drafting your players as to their team situation, their age and their skill set. Also take a serious look at quarterbacks in the first and second rounds.

Why Trust Is Something You Need To Build Into Your Marketing Strategy and Your Quality Conversations

Building trust with your potential customers is a very important component in building a successful online business today. How do you accomplish that? First in your ad copy in your ad, through your funnel and lastly in your followup messages. This is when you must know who your perfect customer is. This will enable you to craft your message to the people you are targeting. You know their problems and you can offer them the solution. Second with the quality conversations you should be having with those potential customers over the phone. Not Cold calling but permission calling. You not only ask for name and email but also a phone number on your opt in box. What you could do is offer an optional free strategy session if they give you a valid phone number.

Starting with your ad copy the first exposure people get to you and your offer. Transparency is so important, people want to know exactly what they are getting up front. Information marketing has become the number one marketing strategy online today. You need to offer something of value to them. Create a free 'info product.', like an eBook, video series or report.Once the prospect decides to opt in to get the free information and continue on through your funnel you need to give people the information that will keep their interest. Depending upon what your product, training or service is transparency is most important.

Points to consider in your copy:

    how it will help them
    are you offering support
    the cost to get started
    how long before results
    how much will they make

Now to quality conversations.

What are Quality Conversations? This is where you build a relationship along with trust.

You are not selling you are asking the questions and listening to their answers.
Ask mostly open ended questions, use words like, what, why, who and where.
Get to know them. The conversation is about them not you.

Some topics that will help you learn more about a person are:

Family - are they married, single, how many children
Occupation - what type of work are they in,
Recreation - what do they do for fun, play sports. travel
Motivation - why and what are they looking for

There are four points to remember when speaking to a potential customer on the phone.

Be more interested in them than selling you and your offer
Learn more about them, than they know about you
Spend less time with more people, instead of more time than less people
End the conversation with a 'call to action', what would the next step be.

Quality conversations are all about listening, building relationships and trust.

Starting with your ad and then moving on to your quality conservation with your perfect customer is an excellent way to build trust with people who are interested in your offer. People buy you first, not your offer. Want to be profitable start with value. One last thing to remember is be authentic with your prospects.

Fantasy Football Auction Leagues - Where You Get to Pick Your Losing Team

When you play in a leagues that enforces a fantasy football auction draft it really takes away from the fun of the game. You may be getting all fired up to play in a league that uses an auction to draft players. Before you jump into this, remember the whole point of playing fantasy games is to allow anyone to be able to have a football team. Once you add in a player value in dollars to the draft process it really takes away from the spirit of the game.

For years before fantasy sports became a household addiction, many fans were in search of a way to put together their own teams of players from different teams. It was this yearning that spawned the game of fantasy football.

The whole point of fantasy sports is to open the world of NFL football ownership, management and championships to everyone. Those who would be winners would usually know more about the NFL than others, but even owners of bad teams can still look forward to seeing who they end up with in their draft.

In a fantasy football auction draft everyone bids on players so whoever manages their budget best wins. Plus you have to wait hours hours just to find out you lost the bid on a guy. This is an annoying, time consuming process that I can't imagine any true fantasy football fan getting involved in. What puzzles me is that people do actually join these types of leagues.

Drafting your team is the best part of the game. Sure winning each week helps too, but the draft is your first major win. Bidding on players in an auction detracts from the whole intent of the game. There are hundreds of regular leagues available so stay away from the auction draft leagues.

You draft your team, everybody else does the same, and then you're ready to play. No waiting hours upon hours for bid after bid to come in on over a hundred players.

I know that there are some fantasy fans that are going to disagree, so I just need to ask why? The fact that some people love a fantasy auction draft really makes no sense to me? Ask yourself what an auction offer over a league with a normal draft venue? PPR leagues, love 'em, IDP leagues, bring 'em on, any league with a fantasy football auction draft, sorry, I'll pass. It all feels like catching passes with your mouth.
